You have the power to create.

Today I look back on my life and the things I have accomplished. I remember when I had a nine to five job and worked Monday through Friday. This morning I woke up and thought back to those times when I had to create my schedule around my employer's requirements of me. Now I wake up and decide my own schedule. I remember driving into my job everyday thinking, there has to be more to life than this. It was the same routine, every single day. I would get up, go to work, come home, cook dinner, take care of the kids, go to bed and do it all over again in the morning. At the time, I didn't realize that I already had everything within me to be a successful entrepreneur. I have always known, even as a little girl that I would be a business owner. I remember being asked as a little girl what I wanted to be when I grew up and I would say... I want to be a business woman. I laugh at that answer now because that was the only way I knew how to articulate what God put in me from the beginning. I have always felt a pull toward entrepreneurship no matter what job I had or when I was in school. Being an employee for me was never enough. If you are an employee, I am not knocking that either. We need employees because entrepreneurship isn't for everyone. If it is for you, you understand what I am talking about. You may have always had a tugging on your heart to own your own business as well.

It took some time for me to realize that I was in control of becoming what I wanted to be. I had to finally discover that I was free to do whatever I wanted. I realized that I was no different than the person who started the company I was working for, or no different from anyone else who already started a business. Once I figured this out, I decided to take a leap of faith and do what God called me to do and start my own real estate company. Has it been an easy journey? No it has not. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY!! I have worked harder for myself than I have ever worked for anyone else. It has been a rewarding process that has birthed several other businesses as well. What I have learned through all of this is that if you have a vision of what you want to create, it can be done. It starts as an idea in your mind and if you can think it, you can create it. I know, because I have done it. If I can do it, then you can too. What ever your vision is, write it down and start creating. Don't be afraid to make BIG moves. The risks can be great, but the rewards are even greater. I am so glad that I decided to take a leap of faith and really do what God was calling me to do. It truly is a great feeling. Never allow your fears to over power your faith!
